Mass vs Volume: What's the Difference for Kids

A big balloon is lighter than a small dumbbell โ€” that confuses kids. Let's untangle "how much space" from "how much it weighs."

Two different questions

Volume answers "how much space does the object take up?" Mass answers "how much does the object weigh?" These are independent traits โ€” a bigger object isn't necessarily heavier.

What you need
